Who is Roger Gracie?
Roger Gracie is a world-famous practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and MMA. He is the grandson of one of the founders of the art, Carlos Gracie. The Gracie family has been the driving force in the growth of BJJ and the revolution in the martial arts community. Roger has put together a team of instructors from Brazil and other parts of the world, all trained to the highest standards of BJJ instruction. Together, they teach the Gracie family
Roger's Biography
Roger Gracie Gomes is the son of Reyla Gracie (daughter of Carlos Gracie Sr.) and Mauricio Motta Gomes (one of the 6 BJJ Black Belts of the legendary Rolls Gracie) and part of the legendary Gracie Family. He is currently a Black Belt under Carlos Gracie Jnr. Roger is one of the most exciting prospects on the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu circuit at the moment. He is following in his father's footsteps in fast becoming one of the world's best BJJ and Submission Grappling exponents.
His most notable achievement to date is winning the prestigious Abu-Dhabi Combat Club Championships in 2005, taking 1st Place in the 88 - 98kg and Open-weight categories, submitting all 8 opponents, a feat that had not previously been achieved.
